In December, I had the following dialogue:
"Hi Anton, we need to conduct a Scrum training for our teams. We want our people to speak the same language and have a common understanding of the basics. Can you recommend someone for this task?"
"I can conduct this training taking into account the context and area."
"Wow, I'd like to attend this training myself!"
Later, I received another message:
"A and C also want to attend the training to get inspired and learn from the experience. They want to participate as volunteers. Can they join?"
The training took place in January, and just two hours after it began, the participants realized that they had not been working with Scrum methodology. Despite the fact that I only used Scrum Guide, my experience, stories, and examples, everyone seemed to catch on to what I was saying.
This same story repeats itself every time I conduct a Scrum training: minimal theory and practice, slow pace, and lots of examples, stories, and analysis, but the participants are always excited.
It got me thinking - why not start conducting this training in an open format? Similar to the one I use, with a several days of slow pace, a focus on group reflection, minimal tool practices, and a focus on my interpretation of Scrum Guide after years of practice. What do you think? Who would be willing to participate?
